To everyone who has never heard of Amazon Web Services, it is one of the on-demand cloud computing companies, which offers more than 2400 services to give us the full length experience in the cloud. To everyone who doesn't have any idea what cloud is, please read my previous blog on cloud computing. Before I talk about why I love AWS, I want to tell you why I am eligible to talk about AWS. I am currently preparing for the AWS cloud practitioner exam, and I am hosting my website statically on AWS ...

Most of the people who are reading this blog might have never heard the word Linux in their life. Some might have heard it when people were talking about how almost 70% of servers run on Linux and it is the most powerful OS (Sorry to break the bubble, it is not a tool). Some people might have heard of it as an Operating System, and some might have already started working on their own projects and try creating their kernels or packages. If I have to explain to a newcomer who has never heard the word ...

Time is everything for me. I really like to plan my entire week’s worth schedule on Sundays. I usually do everything that I have planned that week unless I am on a break where a different method arrives. If I ever were to miss anything that I have planned for the week, I will be strict by not rewarding myself. I have previously written two articles at the beginning of each semester with some tips ...

I chose AWS to host my website because of their super fast hosting services. I was even more impressed when I started to learn about their CloudFront service, or Route 53 service; I was able to visualize the benefits that came with AWS just looking at the setup. It’s always nice to use Platform as a Service (PaaS) because we’ll know how it will work in real life without having to worry about the hardware. Before hosting the website, I got the domain name from “godaddy.com,” so I didn’t have to purchase the domain from AWS. I also had to make sure the website has an SSL certificate...

It's been more than a year since I started writing blogs, and so far, many of my close friends have asked me only one question. “When will you get your own domain?”I was waiting for the right moment to get my own domain and website, even though I have been waiting for longtime. I promised myself that if I ever got one, I would code the entire website by myself.

They say everybody has this one special person in their lives. One who really changes them, makes them a better person. The one person you can’t live without. I met mine 10 years ago, Sahasra. There have been many ups and downs in my life these past ten years, but the only person who got...

Thank you everyone for reading the first part of the blog. If you haven’t read the blog yet, please do read the first part of the blog, as this part is interlinked! so this part makes more sense. After my Sophomore Year, many things have changed in my life. I started taking Advanced Placement (AP)...

I love storytelling, sometimes I tell stories with my code, sometimes with my photography, other times with Data Science, but many times I tell them with my words and if I have to tell where it all began, the first answer without any doubt would be my high school yearbook productions. Most of the people...

“I’ve always wanted to learn music, but I have no time Krish,” “I want to learn creative writing, but I’m too busy Chaitu,” “I want to seriously focus on data science, but I have no time bro.” I think everyone has either said this or they heard it from someone else at least a thousand...

One of the reasons why a company gets into a better position in the market is because of the core leadership team, but the first reason for a company failing to deliver its product or give it the best quality is because of the leader and the core team behind him. We need leaders in...

I don’t know when I had this dream for the first time. A dream that has haunted me for years and years now. Thirty-six years of watching my hard work and dreams burn to the ground. Many things have changed, many people have come in and out of my life, yet this dream has not...

In a single weekend, two mass shootings happened in which thirty-one people were killed and more than a dozen injured. Everyone in the country was waiting to hear what President Trump was going to say about the mass shooting that happened over the weekend. Two mass shootings in less than three days created a lot...

The UIC Quad, the ARC Starbucks, the walk from 1200 W. Harrison to BSB, an overnight stay at The Automatic Lofts, the so-called west campus, midnight conversations about dreams, my favorite view from the tenth floor of the ARC, those tiny stairs in Burnham Hall, room 4-192 in the Library, trying to find some space...

“Hey, what elective are you taking?” “What is a fine arts class?” “Did you complete your English requirement already?” “Can you give me your CRN, so we can both be in the same Data Structures class?” “Is it only offered at 12pm? Oh no, it clashes with another class.” Yes, I am talking about one...

Stories, stories, and more stories. We are all filled with stories and every story has a goal, a motto and a soul in it. Seven billion people and every person has a different story to tell but today this story is about me; Krish Bavana. It’s not a great story, but a story of a guy with dreams. The most common structure of a story is the beginning, middle and conclusion, but today I want to tell a story of a beginning with an unfinished ending. I really don’t know where to start, but if it needs an introduction, I would start it as an average looking, six-foot-tall guy born in a very small village trying to dream about establishing his own company...

Quarantine, Quarantine, Quarantine, I have heard this word more than I heard my own name. Somewhere it feels out of sync to see that everyone is experiencing a weird situation of not knowing what is happening or when everything will get better? Frankly speaking, no one has the answers for anything at this point, but...

Introduction: Leadership is key for everything in this world from White House politics to leaders in high schools. Everyone helps the community to live better and do some service to our society, whereas the leadership style in corporate is not about social service but it is about making their company and economy better. Movies and...

Have you guys ever heard about the butterfly effect? It is a very common theory used in many movies, but recently I have experienced a new effect called the ‘Bat’ effect. From someone eating bats in China to transitioning to online classes at the University of Illinois Chicago, it’s quite astonishing how everything is interlinked....

I have never hated anyone in my entire life as much as I did you. I vaguely remember seeing an old C/C++ book in my father’s book collection when I was a child. I don’t know why but I started hating you right from that moment. Maybe all those years of hearing awful stories about...

Ever heard the quote, “Have a childlike curiosity” most of us did but what happened now. Our entire lives, we were told to have “a childlike curiosity,” and for a long time we did? Didn’t we? But what happens to us when we grow up that we stop being curious? Did adulthood kill curiosity in...

Cloud Computing. to me, this sounds so powerful, and rich, but what even is it? I do not exactly remember where I heard this word for the first time, but after going to college, I have begun to hear it more often. I started becoming more fascinated by the term, and wanted to learn more...

It is easy to appreciate nature while sitting on the beach, watching the sunrise and set, but it’s just as easy to resent that same beach in the time of a hurricane or tsunami. There’s good and bad to everything, and the same remains true in nature. Despite loving nature my entire life, I remember a few days last year that I was so frustrated with...

When I started college, I was really confident about everything that I was going to do. It only took one week to lose all of it. However, I wouldn’t call this journey as bad as the first semester because it has taught me many values. I always believed I was really good at time-management, but...

What did I do during my winter break? When I was coming to the last week of break, I was thinking about what I have learned or how this break has helped me to explore my interests. One month break during my college is really useful for me, and I had many plans for this break, but the most important one was to regain my sleep. Apart from my sleep, I had five important things to do during the break and they are...

Changing my major was not an easy process. I started out as a Mathematics Major in the Mathematics and Computer Science department in the Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) college. I always loved mathematics, so much. Most of the people in my high school know me for my math skills or from yearbook photography. I used to love math so much, that I used to explain math problems to my friends all the time, and algebra was like my family member...

Ilove you, I hate you, I want to thank you, I want to scream at you and say a lot to you and that is why I am writing this letter to you. You made me realize many things in life, you taught me how to speak, you taught me how to accept the truth, you taught me how to move on, you taught me what is death, you taught me many things. I still remember going into this year with so much disappointment and feeling exhausted by everything. Graduation was in less than six months, many of my friends already know where they ...

Why did data science get so popular? There is data all over the world and it is even more in the internet world. We need to understand that data and we need to predict what the audience wants and how it will change the future. We need complicated algorithms to solve those problems and to solve those complicated programs and understand the data, we need people with both mathematical knowledge and computer science knowledge. Data science is the stream where people have both math and computer science knowledge...

My coding journey began with very little experience and as a result, I wasn’t sure whether Python was a good programming language or not to begin learning. I started coding in 10th grade, and it was the first time that I was introduced to Python. After a year, I started working with Java and then...

It’s always good to have different hobbies and interests opposite to your career, as those interests will help you understand yourself more and give you a better scope to grow in life. My hobby was always watching movies, I’ve loved them from a young age. Now you might ask, how did movies help me grow in my career or outside my career? I started telling stories in seventh grade and fell in love with creating them in ninth grade. I always enjoyed creating characters and multiple scenarios for every situation. After several years of writing short fictional stories ...

Speech, speaking, speaker: these were few of the words that excited me the most since the 5th grade. I was taking pictures and videos for my school’s graduating class during my freshman year, and I was amazed by people speaking so confidently during the commencement. Right from the day I saw those speeches, I wanted...

Three weeks into freshman year here at UIC, and I can already say with much confidence, that I’ve learned a lot. I’ve met people from all over the world, and faced a few challenges, but I know that this is just the beginning. When I was in high school, many people used to say that...

Thank you for the wonderful response for last week’s article. This is a continuation of last week’s article. If you didn’t read part 1, please go back and read the part 1. Let them be themselves and work for you. Develop your skills simultaneously, it is really hard to spare time...

It seems as though the world is in a large search for leaders nowadays. Whether you try out for a team, apply for a job, or look for colleges, it looks like everybody wants “a leader.” So what constitutes a leader? What makes these leaders so desirable in every situation? For many years, people called me a leader, and though I didn’t understand what it was about me that made me a leader; I thought nothing of it, and continued on accepting the title; allowing it to slightly raise my self-confidence. But in my Junior year of high school...

At the beginning of high school, everyone has a set of expectations for themselves in the new journey that they’re about to start. When I stepped in to high school for the first time, I also had a lot of expectations for myself for the years to come. I wanted to build robots, I wanted to be well recognized, and become the best speechwriter and speaker in the entire school. I went to a large high school, with over 2800...

Starting life as a freshman all over again after four great years of high school is never easy. We all are adjusted to our school schedules, regular hangouts, sports, practices, extracurricular and all the lovely people who made going to school every day worth it. But in order to move forth in life, and take our very first steps in adulthood, we will have to make many adjustments, and let go of a few of the most memorable aspects of our high school lives. If you want to enjoy your next four years, you need a ...

“Time is of the essence.” A quote we’ve all heard, and all probably dreaded at one point or another. Until I was a freshman in high school, I didn’t need to be reminded of this phrase to get through life. I would just sleep for eight hours, eat on time, and finish the minimal work I had. Then I entered high school. A whole new world of opportunities. With over 120 clubs in my school, half of which I was interested in, and too good to resist offers like being part of student board and exploring...
